BUY RADIO!

Radio is a fast and effective way of contacting large numbers of non-churchgoers.

Radio reaches the age groups many churches struggle to attract. Sixty-one per cent of 18-35 year olds listen to radio. It is the UK's most trusted medium, and it gets where churches aren't: homes, cars, shops, offices, iPods, playgrounds.

Four radio adverts were available during the 2009 campaign, targeted at under-25s, which played on a selection of national radio stations, thanks to funding from Jerusalem Productions. Here they are...

However, large numbers of our audience listen to local commercial music stations. Which is where churches came in.

We made the adverts available for free. But getting them onto the air costs. We reckoned churches could run their own local two-week campaign, using the adverts, for between £1,000 and £2,000. Which wasn't expensive if several churches clubbed together.

Our Five easy steps guide gave invaluable advice and ideas for churches on how to get their voice heard on local radio at Christmas.
